Cinzia Ruzzetti "Ruz"
I was born in Rome in 1980. I graduated in Advertising Graphics and Photography, at the Art Institute of Pomezia (RM). My artistic career begins immediately after graduation, as a decorator and restorer, working in some of the Halls of the Apostolic Palace, Raphael's Loggias and other locations inside the Vatican city such as Casina Pio IV. I also worked in Rome and in various Italian regions: Villa Torlonia (Rome), Santa Maria Maggiore, the Abbey of Fossanova, Priverno (LT) etc. The passion for oil painting occurred almost in the same period, starting to paint on commission, mainly author copies. Over the years, I gave up the full-time artistic profession and started working as an employee, and started working part time on oil painting. I began working continuously on original painting, during the first COVID lockdown, a period in which I moved from the figurative painting to the abstract one, using furthermore the palette knife. Some of the artists who most influenced my style and pictorial language since high school have been W. Turner, C. Friederich, E. Schiele. It is important for me, the continuous research of textures and chromatic effects able to communicate and to provide a perception of reality different from how we know it.
